The Devotion Type III TPMS sensor fastening instructions

The Devotion Type III utilizes a special integrated long neck valve stem to accomodate the 3 piece construction of the wheel. This construction doesn't allow for the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensors to be used in the same way it would be used on a one piece wheel. So we have developed a system that uses a secure calmp to fasten the sensor to the wheel. Follow the instructions below to fully understand how it is done and print out if needed to give to the installer so that there should not be any problems. We can provide the parts shown below to customers if needed, depending on availablility.

Step 1.

Inspect straps to make sure they are functional. Wrap them around the valley of the wheel and do not tighten all the way, but fasten them enough so that they do not fall off the wheel.

Step 2.

Detach the sensor from the valve stem by unscrewing the base of the valve stem from the small bolt on the sensor.

Step 3.

This is how it should look when detached.

Step 4.

These parts (valve stem and screw) should be stored and put away.

Step 5.

This is the only piece that is needed, the actual electronic sensor.

Step 6.

fit it under the loose strap parallel with the strap, long ways.

Step 7.

Here is the double sided 3M tape that will help secure the sensor.

Step 8.

cut a piece about double the length of the sensor and fold it onto itself.

Step 9.

peel off the backing of the tape to expose the other side of the adhesive tape and apply to the sensor.

Step 12.

Cut one more piece of the 3M tape about 3" long to be applied on the top of the sensor. Once again, fold it over and peel off the backing to expose the adhesive.

Step 13.

Apply the folded tape to the top of the sensor but make sure not to cover the pressure hold that read the air pressure.

Step 14.

insert the sensor under the strap and tighten by hand with an extra half turn. Do not overtighten.
